- Based at Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, NHSBT Donor Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford.
- Variable hours contract.
- About the role:
- We invite applications for the post of Transplant Technician to support the collection of data and samples for the Oxford Transplant Biobank (OTB) and Quality in Organ Donation (QUOD) national biobank, along with various transplant research programmes they support. The role of ‘Transplant Technician’ is vital to our success.
- You will have the opportunity to work in cutting-edge research and to contribute to long-term patient benefit. The Transplant Technicians will be required to co-ordinate in a joint team effort a 24/7 on-call rota. When called, you must be available at short notice to either travel to the Churchill Hospital, Oxford to collect pre-specified patient samples and data in close co-operation with the transplant team, or to use online resources to access sample suitability and arrange for transport to the appropriate research programme.
