Technical & Research Assistant / Communications Officer
I receive biopsy samples from various tissues (heart, kidney, liver, and ureter) and process them for histology. I prepare formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded samples, which are then stored in the QUOD Biobank until they are requested for research studies. When samples are requested, I then cut sections and prepare slides for histological analysis.
I am also Communications Officer for the group. This role involves updating our website and social media platforms, as well as public engagement. Our aim is to increase the visibility of the QUOD biobank to donor families and researchers to raise awareness of the incredible impact the biobank can have on transplant and disease research.
