Kidney Research UK Driving Discoveries 2025 | 24–25 September 2025
The QUOD team will be attending the two-day KRUK Driving Discoveries conference in Bristol. We look forward to connecting with the renal community and discussing how we can support research into kidneys to improve patient outcomes. Do come and say hello if you are there, we would love to meet you.
BTS Monothematic Meeting 2025 | 13–14 November 2025
The QUOD team will be attending the BTS Monothematic Meeting at the Wellcome Collection in London, UK in November. The meeting will be held over two days, each with their own themes: Advancing transplantation diagnostics: cell free DNA and Omics technologies for precision medicine (13th November 2025) and UK Cardiothoracic Transplantation: charting future success (14th November 2025). We look forward to connecting with you there!
NHSBT Clinical Research & Development Conference 2026 | 21–22 January 2026

Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences Bioresource Symposium 2026 | 29th January 2026
The Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences Bioresource will hold its annual symposium in January 2026 at the University of Oxford. We look forward to hearing about the bioresources available within NDS and connecting with the research and biobank communities. Further details to follow.
British Transplantation Society Annual Conference 2026 | 3–6 March 2026
The QUOD team will be heading to Llandudno in North Wales for the BTS Annual conference in March 2026. We will have a stand and look forward to meet you to tell you all about the biobank and how we can support your research. Or just come and say hello!

British Transplant Games | 31 July – 3 August 2025
The British Transplant Games was held in Oxford, UK in the summer. QUOD attended the Opening Ceremony and the Donor Run, which were held at Blenheim Palace.

WTC 2025 | 2–6 August 2025
The 2025 World Transplant Congress was held at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, CA, USA. The meeting featured some of the latest research and innovations in transplantation. The QUOD team had the privilege of attending and connecting with researchers and healthcare practitioners to discuss how we can support you.

Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences Work Experience Programme | 30 June – 11 July 2025
We will be taking part in the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS) Work Experience Programme on 3 & 8 July 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for sixth-form students interested to exploring careers in medical science. Here, they will learn about how the QUOD biobank is run and how it can support research into transplantation. They will also meet the Transplant Research Group, where they can find out more about careers in research and meet scientists and clinical researchers within the group for a hands-on day and the opportunity to ask questions they may have about routes into research.

ESOT Congress 2025 | 29 June – 2 July 2025
ESOT London did not disappoint! The theme of the congress this year was “Nurturing a sustainable transplantation journey”, reflecting ESOT’s commitment to considerate practices and long-term sustainability in both transplantation methods and associated environmental impacts. The final of the QUOD Innovation Competition was held on Saturday 28 June 2025. You can find our who the winners were here. The QUOD team loved meeting everyone there and discussing how we can support research into transplantation and we look forward to continuing these discussions.

UK Transplant Registry Data Workshop | 20 May 2025
QUOD joined the UK Organ Donation and Transplantation Research Network (UKODTRN) on May 20 2025 at the Assembly Rooms in Birmingham for a day of discussions on “Maximising the Research Potential of the UK Transplant Registry”. James Hunter, QUOD’s Clinical Science Coordinator, presented in the “Maximising UKTR benefits” and will talk about QUOD and research data libraries. He was also involved in the panel discussion to discuss the next steps to make the UKTR the best in the world for transplant epidemiology studies.

Oxford Academic Kidney Network Symposium | 1 April 2025
The QUOD team had a stand at the 1st Oxford Academic Kidney Network Symposium, which was held at the Richard Doll Building, Old Road Campus, University of Oxford. The symposium aimed to raise awareness of the academic and clinical expertise within the Oxford kidney community to encourage collaborations and provide an opportunity to present some of the work being carried out in this field. We enjoyed meeting you there to discuss how QUOD and the Oxford Transplant Biobank can support your research.
Congratulations to Ioannis Michelakis, who won the Oxford Academic Kidney Symposium poster prize for his research on ‘Plasma uromodulin dynamics in deceased kidney donors and the association with transplant outcomes‘, which used QUOD samples.

The QUOD symposium 2025 was held in Birmingham, UK. The day was a huge success and brought together the extended QUOD team from across the UK as well as many of our collaborators and connections from the transplantation community.

BTS–NHSBT Congress 2025 | 12–14 March 2025
We enjoyed connecting with the wider transplant community at the The Brighton Centre, Brighton, UK in March 2025. It was a pleasure to meet with clinicians, scientists, allied health professionals and those with an interest in organ donation, retrieval, and transplantation. Thanks to all who came to say hello to us at our stand. We loved to connecting with you to showcase our work and talk about how QUOD can support your research.

UK Biobank Scientific Meeting 2024 | 10 December 2024
QUOD attended the UK UK Biobank Scientific Meeting held in London, UK. We enjoyed connecting with researchers and discussing potential collaborations.
BTS Monothematic Meeting 2024 | 7 November 2024
QUOD had a stand at the one-day BTS meeting focusing on ageing and transplantation at King’s College Hospital, London, UK. The meeting brought together researchers and clinicians to examine major issues around ageing and deceased donor kidney and liver transplantation. We enjoyed meeting up with researchers to talk about how QUOD can support research.

TTS2024 | 22–25 September 2024
QUOD attended The Transplant Society Congress in Istanbul, Turkey from 22–25 September. Research using our samples was presented and we also had a stand. It was great to meet with transplant researchers, clinicians, industry, and our extended QUOD family.

QUOD had a stand at the Old Road Campus Research Building, University of Oxford on Saturday 14th September 2024 from 12:30–4:30pm. We loved meeting people of all ages and showing them how we support into organ donation.
