I joined the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences and the Quality in Organ Donation (QUOD) team in May 2019 as a Technical Assistant. My role supports the assembly of the QUOD donation boxes and the distribution of these boxes across hospitals in the UK.
My daily routine involves the careful assembly of QUOD boxes, making sure each one contains all the vital components to collect various organ samples. I then monitor the destination of each box through a tracking spreadsheet. With QUOD box making being my primary focus, I also distribute NRP and DB2 boxes to collect donation samples which then are also appropriately tracked.
